Because of the strong electrostatic interaction between the metal nodes and organic linkers in high valence metal MOFs, these frameworks are resistant to water and acids. However, for the same reason, production was limited to small quantities in defective powders. We modeled this substitution reaction and created stepwise processes to promote the flux of ligands.
